Coleridge School Christmas Card winner announced!

January 22, 2013

Last year Greene & Co. sponsored Coleridge Schools Christmas Card Competition, designed to inspire the young artists of the Crouch End school. The competition received a hug response, but we are proud to announce that the winner was Matthew Bradbery in Year 2. His colourful design was then transformed into Greene & Co. Crouch End’s Christmas card winning himself some Hamley’s vouchers – just in time for the sales!

Coleridge School is a very successful primary in the heart of Crouch End and they have been part of an on-going relationship with Greene & Co. which has enabled some fantastic events to take place including last year’s fireworks display. It is these relationships in the local areas which surround our branches which help Greene & Co. give something back to the local community.

Location, location, location

September 28, 2012

Last night Greene & Co. Crouch End featured on Channel 4’s hit TV show location, location, location

If you’re a fan of property shows, or you were just channel hopping at the right time, you might have spotted Greene & Co.’s very own Lee Goodchild doing what he does best, on national TV! The surprisingly successful Channel 4 show, which stars Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer, follows buyers through the process of finding the right house. In this episode they were focusing on North London, with a young couple who didn’t know the area and a single woman who’d lived there all her life.

And obviously as they were in North London their go-to estate agency was Greene & Co! Highlights include Goodchild in the Crouch End office, leafing through some very attractively spanned out area guides, and later on a very coy Kirstie ringing to have a bit of a chat with Lee on the phone during some tense negotiation times.

It seems when it comes to national television, Greene & Co. have still got it!

Shortage in family homes predicted for 2012

December 15, 2011

Greene & Co. predict a shortage of family homes in 2012 in London’s most popular family-friendly areas following a surge of registrations in the £1million price bracket. Demand for these properties around Crouch End, West Hampstead and Maida Vale, has increased by in the last three months of 2011 as families opt to stay in the capital to avoid escalating commuter costs.

David Pollock, Managing Director of Greene & Co. comments: “Homeowners who previously would have moved out of London with a young family are now remaining in the capital and this is creating a shortage of family homes. Buyers are looking for a permanent base which incorporates good schools and green spaces but also has a London village community feel with a host of decent restaurants, shops and quick commuter links to the capital.

Greene & Co. reports that many potential buyers have been forced to rent in the area until the right property comes up, leading to mortgage-ready applicants and chain free sales. Buyers are also happy to carry out modernisation and extend properties to suit their particular needs.

David continues: “We are hopeful that the start of 2012 will bring much needed family homes to the market. Sellers, many of whom will be downsizing after living in the area for some years, can expect a speedy and often chain-free sale. Such is the demand that we have been selling these homes at above the asking prices in the later part of 2011.”
