Fundraising events in 2009
West Hampstead car wash and sports day
22nd August 2009Greene & Co, West Hampstead pulled in a few more pounds for our fundraising event, edging us even closer to hitting our £10,000 target.
On August 22nd the West Hampstead office and helpers, hose and sponge in hand, headed for St Mary's school in Kilburn to scrub a few cars and recapture their youth with some fun sports day activities.
Everyone had a great day, especially the kids battling out for first place in the egg and spoon race, sack race or hula hoop competitions. Lot's of people bought down their dirty cars and revelled in the local Estate Agents getting their hands dirty. Over £600 was raised on the day for the charity fundraising pot.
Maida Vale Fight for Life with Music
20th August 2009Maida Vale's music night proved to be a huge success on August 20th, raising a massive £2,800. Everyone that came really enjoyed themselves and the night went without a hitch...apart from a last minute cancellation from one of the acts - it's a good job our Marketing Manager can hold a note or too and stepped up to the mike to belt out a few tunes.
Crouch End Fun Day

This year’s fundraising is well and truly underway. The Cricket Match and fun day in Crouch End kicked off the proceedings on Sunday 12th July. After nervously watching the precarious weather reports all week, we struck gold and scored the sunniest day of the week. Hoorah! So off we headed to Crouch End, stilt walker and several hundred balloons in tow to raise a load of lolly for Fight For Life.
We raised a commendable £1,600 with lots of local residents popping along to catch an over or two of the cricket, chance their luck at the raffle, tap their toes to the live entertainment or simply enjoy a succulent burger provided by a local butchers in Crouch End.
Throughout the year we’re going to be holding lots of fun events…
On May 17th Greene & Co went on a really, really long walk to kick off the fundraising…The sponsored walk took place along the picturesque countryside of Mill Hill, Totteridge, Arkley and Barnet. 10 miles, some drizzly rain and a few sore feet later, we managed to raise a substantial amount...watch this space to find out how much.

In the UK around 1,500 children each year are diagnosed with a childhood cancer. The Fight for Life children's cancer charity is committed to raising substantial funds each year to maintain the Radiotherapy Unit treating children at the new University College Hospital in Marylebone Road, London. Fight for Life is staffed solely by volunteers and ALL contributions go directly to the fund.

This unit services all of Great Ormond Street's radiotherapy needs and is the primary paediatric radiotherapy unit in the South-East of England. Since FFL began in 1997 we have purchased our very own Radiotherapy Linear Accelerator machine, a PET/CT Scanner and we maintain a wonderful Children's Play Area which is regularly updated with toys and equipment. The play area and their wonderful play therapist help to make the unit and the treatment much more 'kid friendly' and much less scary. There is no other similar facility anywhere in the UK, with such a wide range of expertise and modern equipment.
“The bottom line is that with your help and the expertise of all our remarkable staff, we now expect to cure (yes cure in the true sense of the word!) over 70% of all children presenting with a newly diagnosed cancer.”
