Greene & Community Focus
Not all estate agents are the same. Yes, we sell and let houses. Yes, that’s what we do best. But we also feel strongly about our local community and want to give something back.

Fundraising events in 2009

This year’s fundraising is well and truly underway. The Cricket Match and fun day in Crouch End kicked off the proceedings on Sunday 12th July. After nervously watching the precarious weather reports all week, we struck gold and scored the sunniest day of the week. Hoorah! So off we headed to Crouch End, stilt walker and several hundred balloons in tow to raise a load of lolly for Fight For Life.

We raised a commendable £1,600 with lots of local residents popping along to catch an over or two of the cricket, chance their luck at the raffle, tap their toes to the live entertainment or simply enjoy a succulent burger provided by a local butchers in Crouch End.

Miada Vale Fight for Life with music
On 20th August Maida Vale hosted a fun, funky and cool music night in a trendy little watering hole featuring local musicians showcasing their talents.
The night was a husge success, raising £1,400 for the Fight for Life charity! An amazing achievement and another fat donation for such a good cause. We're at 68% of our target now and are hopeful to smash it with two more amazing events coming up over the next few months. Keep your eye out on our blog for more updates.

More charity and sponsorship 2009
Village School, Belsize Park - we sponsored the petting zoo at their summer fair in June. The day went really well, even though a mouse left a little present on Jonny's hand, one of the Greene & Co helpers.

Weston Park School - Greene & Co were happy to offer sponsorship towards this school in Crouch End's summer fair in May. The day was a great success and a total of £3,600 was raised. Lots of people came and enjoyed all the fab food, drink and activities, including Weston Park's got talent - a chance for the children to showcase their skills. We were very proud to contribute to such a successful day.
St Aidens Primary School - we happily helped St Aiden's out again this year with their Summer Fair. This included a fun design a banner competition, which resulted in some really cute competition entries and we also sponsored the plant stall. The school raised over £7,000 which is just amazing.

Crouch End Open Studios - We thought this was a fantastic opportunity to get involved and give something back with some financial support. In May Crouch End Open Studios hosted an exhibition, giving the general public a chance to meet artists and buy their work. The weekend went really well, with lots of art lovers flocking to the event.
Fitzjohn School - look at this amazing trophy the children at Fitzjohn School in Belsize Park made for us to thank us for all the help and support we have offered them recently.

St Saviours School in Maida Vale held an auction to raise money for charity in April and Greene & Co are happy to have played their part in a very succesful event. A wacking £24,000 was raised on the night and with our help the school were able to print their catologue, provide everyone with a welcoming glass of fizz and provide a Maida Vale local area guide. We're so happy the event was such a success
St Joseph's School in Maida vale recently held an auction of promises and we did our bit by donating some cash towards the event. And they raised £44,000 at the event! Here is a picture of the auction in full swing.

We recently sponsored Stationers Playgroup's Spring Fair in Crouch End helping them to raise £1500 for much needed equipment for the playgroup. Looks like they had lots of fun.

Charity and Sponsorship in 2008
As a company, Greene & Co invested over £32,000 into charities and local community groups in 2008!
Our charity of the year 2008 was Project Butterfly: the refurbishment of the Marie Curie hospice in Hampstead.

After counting all the pennies (plus the generous larger donations) made by our customers and thoughtful members of the local community - plus the £10,000 contribution made by Greene & Co., we are pleased to annouce that we raised nearly £17,000 for Marie Curie. An amazing achievement in such a rocky economic climate!
The major fundraising event was a fun day hosted in Crouch End in the summer, with over 400 members of the local community attending. A Twenty20 cricket match, “Soggy Sponge the Estate Agent”, games for the kids and a BBQ made the day with over £3,000 was raised. Greene & Co. staff also got behind the cause, many of them donating a day’s salary – contributing to £3,400 of the total amount raised. You might have even seen an estate agent or two out on the street shaking the tin for the cause!
Other charities and local organisations we continue to work with;
The Crouch End Project: The Crouch End Project was set up by independent retailers in N8 to preserve the area’s unique character, improve the shopping experience for everyone who comes to the area, and, reduce the need for local residents to get into cars to shop. Greene&Co are proud members of this initiative.
LATE NIGHT SHOPPING IN CROUCH END: Please note that all CEP members are open until 8pm on the first Thursday of the month to ensure all you shopping needs can be met - locally!

Ashworth Mansions Summer Party: 2008 is the second year that Greene & Co have been the principle sponsor of the Ashworth Mansions Summer Party in Maida Vale... although this year it looks like it was more of an umbrella party!
For further information on the history of Ashworth Mansions or to see if we currently have any properties available to buy or rent in the building please click on the umbrella picture.
St Mary's Primary School, NW6: Greene & Co are working with St Mary’s on a number of things throughout 2008. First of all is a reading scheme where members of our West Hampstead team visit the school on a weekly basis and spend ½ hour reading one-to-one with the students. We are also working on a mentoring programme, where various members of the greene&co team visit the school and talk about their job, how they got to where they are in life, their qualifications and how they see success. We are also contributing to the school financially, assisting in the purchase of a bouncy castle!
St Aidan's Primary School: as one of the first schools to get in touch with us when we opened our new office in Crouch End, we were very happy to work with St Aidan's. It's certainly been a great relationship we have established. Greene & Co. were the major sponsor of the St Aidan's summer fair, providing all promotional material for the school - as well as supplying them with 500 Go Greene bags. Since then we have been involved with judging of school competitions as well as providing financial support.

The Village School Summer Fete: Greene & Co were more than happy to work with The Village School NW3 in 2008. Looks like everyone had a great day and the Go Greene bags went down a treat!

Fitzjohn's Primary School Calendar: We just love working with local schools... especially when the theme for the 2009 calendar is how to be more environmentally friendly!

The Rosary RC Primary School: located on Haverstock Hill, The Rosary School got in touch with us in the early part of the year to see how we could help in their “Pennies for Plastic” campaign. Greene&Co paid for the design and production of 500 bags to be given to the primary students to raise awareness on the effects of plastic bags.
The Hornsey Cricket Club: Greene&Co are the official sponsor of The Hornsey Cricket Club. Our sponsorship subsidises the clubs first and second teams uniform.

The Rokesly Infants School, N8: Greene&Co are proud to contribute towards the Rokesly School’s summer fair.
Grief Encounters: helping children through bereavement. Greene&Co contributed towards the costs of the Comedy Evening raising funds for this charity in March 2008.
2007
Charity of the Year: Help a London Child. Greene&Co contributed over £12,000 to this local and very important charity in 2007.
Village Opera, NW3: Greene&Co were involved in the sponsorship of the Village Opera’s production of Hansel and Gretel in November of 2007.
Financial contributions have been made to the following charities between 2006-2008;
What other impact does Greene&Co have on the local community? We have won awards that say we are the "best of the best" when it comes to London Estate Agency!
Note: We are always very interested in sponsoring charities and local events. Our only requirement is that ideally the charity is focussed in the local area or around London.
